Actress Charlbi Dean’s cause of death has now been confirmed.
The NYC medical examiner has released that the 32-year-old died of “Bacterial (Capnocytophaga) Sepsis.”
Four months after her tragic death, it was announced that the actress died of a bacterial infection and other complications.
According to the CDC, Capnocytophaga is a type of bacteria that is spread to humans who are in close contact with dogs and cats or that have been bitten by the animal.
It cam cause an infection in those with weaker immune systems. Sepsis is the body’s reaction to an infection an if not treated, can lead to organ failure and death.
Dean’s death was ruled an accident and was a complicated case due to the absence of her spleen. The actress was in a car accident in 2009, which lead to the removal of the organ.
Her career was just starting to take off, having just landed a part in the newly released “Triangle of Sadness” with Woody Harrelson.
