The boyfriend of an Alabama woman, Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell, who went missing after stopping to help a toddler on a busy highway, has revealed that she was kidnapped and spent the following days fighting for her life.

After a two-day search, Russell mysteriously reappeared at home, safe and sound.

Thomar Latrell Simmons, Russell’s boyfriend, took to Facebook to share the harrowing details of her ordeal.

He stated that she was held against her will and endured a life-threatening situation during the 48 hours she was missing.

Due to the traumatic experience, Russell is currently focused on her physical and mental recovery and is unable to provide any updates or information about her kidnapper.

Simmons expressed his gratitude to everyone who participated in the search for Russell in Hoover, Alabama. He acknowledged the support the story received on social media and the efforts made by his family, friends, former teammates, and church members. Simmons shared that he had been tirelessly searching for Russell since he received the news of her disappearance, and he was determined to find her and bring her back safely.

It remains unclear where Russell had been during the days she was missing. When she was dropped off at her home in Hoover on Saturday, she appeared to be in a state of shock, according to the police.

As a precautionary measure, she was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Law enforcement officials have decided to allow Russell time to recover before conducting an interview with her to gather more information about her abduction.

When authorities arrived at the location where Russell had reported the presence of the wandering toddler on Thursday night, they found her vehicle and some of her belongings, including her phone. However, both Russell and the child were nowhere to be found, leaving investigators puzzled about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

The case has raised concerns about the safety of individuals who stop to assist others on the highways. Russell’s parents have alleged that their daughter was lured out of her car and kidnapped using the toddler as “bait.” The shocking incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers faced by those who selflessly offer help to strangers in need.

As Russell continues her recovery, the authorities are committed to uncovering the truth behind her abduction and bringing the perpetrator to justice. The community remains vigilant and supportive, hoping for a swift resolution and sending their prayers and well-wishes to Russell and her loved ones during this difficult time.
