Amber Heard told the courtroom that the op ed she penned in The Washington Post about domestic violence is ‘not about Johnny’ [Depp].
The actress has stated that the op ed is actually about what she experienced “after [she] escaped [her] marriage”.
Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over an op-ed she wrote in 2018 in The Washington Post about being abused. The actor was not named, however, he claims that these allegations have negatively impacted his reputation and his career.
The actress then countersued Depp for $100 million, accusing the 58-year-old of creating a “smear campaign” against her.
The 36-year-old told the court:
“The only one who made it about him ironically is Johnny,”
The op ed is titled “I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”
