Amber Heard has testified in court that Johnny Depp cheated on her after they got married.
Depp launched a defamation lawsuit against Heard in 2019, after the Aquaman star described herself as a victim of domestic abuse in a 2018 article she penned in The Washington Post. Heard never mentioned Depp by name but the actor argued that the article she wrote tarnished his reputation and ultimately his acting career.
Heard claims that Depp cheated on her with another woman just after they got married in 2015.
The 36-year-old claimed that he had an “on-and-off” relationship with the woman and she discovered the alleged affair when the actress found his iPad open after he passed out. She claimed:
“I found his iPad open, he had been texting someone with it open, he had passed out, and I saw he was texting a woman he had a relationship with on and off at the beginning of our relationship so I recognised the name but the date was right after the wedding.”
“I saw he had gone to her house right after we got married, like upon touching down in Los Angeles, I think it was the next day he went to this woman’s house, who he [had] a sexual relationship with.”
Upon being asked how she reacted when discovering the alleged affair, Heard said:
“I freaked out,”
“I just remember being so mad at him for cheating on me and doing so in this way, like right after the wedding,”
“And then I, right after my wedding, go to see him. And then Australia happened. And it just felt like everything came crashing down.”
