Bed Bath & Beyond exec Gustavo Arnal’s death has been ruled a suicide by the medical examiner, after he leaped from his 18th floor New York apartment.
The 52-year-old left no note for his family.
The incident happened around 12.20am on Friday, according to law enforcement.
The Chief Financial Officer’s widow and two grown daughters left the apartment in Tribeca at around 10.35am on Sunday, to arrange funeral plans.
The doorman from the high-rise building approached the grieving family as they were escorted out by two men wearing black, and said:
“I’m so very, very sorry,”
The family declined to comment and one of the men in black held out a hand in warning, saying “No. Back!”
Arnal was facing a $1.2 billion stock fraud suit that was filed against him, two weeks before he died.
