Betty White Quielty Paid To Fly Animals Out Of Aquarium After Hurricane Katrina

Legendary actress Betty White has died at the age of 99 it has been announced.

The Golden Girls icon passed away weeks before her 100th birthday on January 17th.

In a final tweet before her death, Betty said: “My 100th birthday… I cannot believe it is coming up.”

Tributes have been pouring in for White.

White’s agent, Jeff Witjas, has now confirmed her caused of death after so much speculation.

Vicki Lawrence, told Page Six, that White’s last word was ‘Allen’, the name of her late husband.

She said:

“I texted Carol (White’s co-star) and said, ‘This just sucks. I hate this. It’s just horrible to see the people you love so much go away,’

“Carol wrote back and said, ‘I know, I know. I spoke to Betty’s assistant, who was with her when she passed, and she said the very last word out of her mouth was ‘Allen.’”

“How sweet is that? I said, ‘That is so sweet. God, I hope that’s true. For all of us, I really hope it’s true, a lovely thought.’”

Since White’s death, it’s been revealed that the iconic actress privately paid to fly animals out of an aquarium after hurricane Katrina.

The Audubon Nature Institute tweeted on Friday:

“We lost a conservationist, animal advocate, and friend the day White died at the age of 99. When the penguins & sea otters were evacuated to [Monterey Bay Aquarium] for Hurricane Katrina, Betty White paid for the plane to relocate them. She did not ask for fanfare; she just wanted to help.”
