Katherine Ryan, like many celebs, has hit out at Will Smith for his outburst at the Academy Awards.
Smith very publicly slapped Chris Rock after the comedian compared Will’s Wife, Jada Pinkett Smith to G.I Jane, which was highly inappropriate and insensitive as Jada has been very open about her hair loss journey due to alopecia.
Ryan started a discussion with her social media followers regarding the incident, which the comedian later shared screenshots of to her Instagram Stories.
One fan wrote to the 38-year-old, saying:
“I don’t condone what he did, violence is never the answer but just because Chris is a ‘comedian’, it means Will has to sit and watch his wife be insulted? Chris shouldn’t have said it, Will shouldn’t have hit him.”
To which Ryan responded:
“Yes, he has to sit and watch his wife be insulted, yes that’s the point of the celeb monologue.”
“Can’t take a joke, stay home,”
Smith has since issued a public apology to the comedian he ‘assaulted’ on live TV. A source close to Rock has claimed he “had no idea” about Pinkett Smith’s alopecia diagnosis.
