Charlie Hunnam, an actor known for playing various characters on screen has admitted that he doesn’t like to do bed scenes on screen and that the only woman he wants to kiss is the one he has been in a relationship with for 15 years.
The actor has been in a long-term relationship with jewelry designer Morgana McNelis since 2005.
Despite their long relationship, they are not married, as Charlie believes they are already married and doesn’t see the need for official ceremonies. He said:
“I’m, like, so romantic, and the reality is I sort of consider myself married. I’ve been with my girlfriend for 14 years. I suppose what I was trying to articulate is the official government sanction of it doesn’t mean anything to me, but the romance of it means an enormous amount.”
However, he has stated that he will eventually do it for Morgana. They live on a ranch in California and enjoy a simple countryside lifestyle.
Charlie also has a phobia of germs and has had issues with hygiene since childhood, which affected him during a film shoot in India. He said:
“I’ve been profoundly germaphobic since I was a young child. I don’t want to kiss anyone but my girlfriend for my whole life.”
This fear was intensified after learning about a parasite that can cause blindness.
As a result, personal hygiene has become a top priority for him.
Although he never publicly stated it, it’s possible that his decision to reject the role in Fifty Shades of Grey was influenced by the fact that the majority of scenes in the movie involve bed scenes.
Hunnam is currently starring in the series Shantaram, based on the novel by Gregory David Roberts.
He plays the role of Lindsay Ford, a bank robber from Australia who flees to India.
Despite his successful career, Hunnam has not forgotten his initial dream of being a screenwriter.
He sold a screenplay called Vlad to Summit Entertainment, which focused on the real-life story of Vlad the Impaler, who was the inspiration for Dracula. Charlie learned about Vlad while shooting the movie Cold Mountain in Romania.
