Singer Chris Daughtry has postponed his tour after his 25-year-old daughter Hannah has tragically passed away.
The American Idol finalist was touring the US, but has flown home to Nashville to be with his family during this devastating time.
The band released a statement:
“Due to the unexpected death of Chris and Deanna Daughtry’s daughter, Hannah, all currently scheduled shows for the coming week for Daughtry have been postponed,”
“The Daughtry family thanks you for your understanding and respectfully asks for privacy during this very difficult time. Further details will be made available at a later date. The investigation into this tragic death is still ongoing.”
Hannah was discovered dead in her Tennessee home on Friday, according to reports.
Sources told TMZ that detectives have told the family Hannah’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
Bobby Jolly, Hannah’s boyfriend, was arrested at Fentress County Jail after Hannah’s body was found. The reason for his arrest is currently unknown.
Chris Daughter has spoken out about the tragic news.
In an Instagram post, he wrote:
I am still processing the last 24 hours. I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken. Thank you all for your kind words and condolences. They are truly felt and appreciated. I will be taking a break from social media to be present with my family as we attempt to heal from this devastating loss.
