Singer Chris Daughtry postponed his tour in November after his 25-year-old daughter Hannah tragically passed away.
The American Idol finalist was touring the US, but flew home to Nashville to be with his family during the devastating time.
The band released a statement:
“Due to the unexpected death of Chris and Deanna Daughtry’s daughter, Hannah, all currently scheduled shows for the coming week for Daughtry have been postponed,”
“The Daughtry family thanks you for your understanding and respectfully asks for privacy during this very difficult time. Further details will be made available at a later date. The investigation into this tragic death is still ongoing.”
Hannah was discovered dead in her Tennessee home, according to reports.
Daughtry and his wife, Deanna, have now confirmed Hannah passed away after taking her own life while under the influence of narcotics.
The couple said Hannah had struggled with mental illness and turned to drugs and abusive relationships.
“We did everything we could to support her and get her the help she needed to recover from these tragedies and get her life back on track.”
They also claimed their daughter contacted them on the morning of her death in fear for her life, claiming her boyfriend had physically abused her.
Her boyfriend was arrested by police after her body was found, but the details of why were not disclosed.
