Surprise! Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have once again expanded their family, joyfully announcing the arrival of their fourth child.
Teigen took to Instagram to share the wonderful news and posted the first adorable photos of baby.
This comes just months after the couple welcomed their daughter, Esti Maxine, in January.
Teigen and Legend are already proud parents to their older children, Luna and Miles. However, they experienced the heartbreaking loss of their son, Jack, at 20 weeks into Teigen’s pregnancy in 2020.
The couple welcomed a son named Wren Alexander Stephens through the help of a surrogate.
In her heartfelt Instagram announcement, Teigen expressed her lifelong desire to have four children.
She reminisced about her childhood, where she would always have two glow worms and two cabbage patch dolls by her side, engaging in imaginative play and watching “Alf.” Following the devastating loss of Jack, Teigen had doubts about her ability to carry more babies on her own. She acknowledged that during that time, she blocked out many memories but distinctly remembers being surrounded by people who wanted to protect her from experiencing that pain and loss again.
In 2021, Teigen and Legend contacted a surrogacy agency to explore the possibility of having two surrogate mothers simultaneously, each bringing a healthy baby boy or girl into their lives. Teigen described it as a concept of having twins, in a way.
However, as their surrogacy journey progressed, Teigen realized she wanted to attempt carrying their baby herself, one last time.
She candidly shared that if it didn’t work out, they would be okay, as they had already endured the worst.
With determination, Teigen and Legend embarked on the IVF process once again. They underwent a transfer, and their happiness knew no bounds when they received the wonderful news that they were expecting their little girl, Esti.
At some point during their IVF journey, they crossed paths with Alexandra, an extraordinary and compassionate surrogate who would play an integral role in their family’s story.
After an initial unsuccessful transfer, Alexandra became pregnant with Teigen and Legend’s son, and he was born on June 19.
Teigen expressed overwhelming joy, stating that their hearts and home were now officially full. She also acknowledged their late son, Jack, and shared that both Wren and Esti’s angel kisses are from him.
The journey to expand their family had been filled with ups and downs, but their unwavering love and the support of their surrogate made it all possible.
The announcement was met with an outpouring of love and congratulations from friends, family, and fans alike. Teigen and Legend have always been open about their personal experiences, allowing others to connect with their journey and find solace in shared stories of hope and resilience. As they embrace their new chapter as a family of six, their story serves as a reminder of the strength and beauty that can arise from challenging circumstances.
Congratulations!
