Daniel Craig, the world-famous British actor, once stole a frozen duck in order to feed himself and his then-girlfriend.

In a 2012 interview with Rolling Stone to promote the release of Skyfall, Craig shared the story of how he and his ex-girlfriend were forced to resort to stealing because they were struggling to make ends meet.

“A whole frozen duck,” Craig recalled. “I played decoy, and she got it up her skirt, which was quite a feat, I have to say, but she did it with aplomb, pretending she was pregnant.”

Craig was quick to clarify that he only stole from supermarkets that he believed could afford the loss. He said, “But, f**k, you know, we didn’t have anything to eat, and we had to feed ourselves.”

Craig’s early struggles are a testament to his resilience and determination. When he was just 16 years old, he left school to pursue a career in acting in London.

He was eventually accepted into the National Youth Theatre and began landing small parts on TV by the age of 18.

However, his acting career wasn’t initially lucrative, and he struggled to make ends meet.

Craig admits that he spent the little money he made on beer and smoked salmon, and his dinners usually consisted of “f***ing chicken or beef stew.” He also sometimes avoided paying rent.

In 1992, when he was 23 years old, Craig married actress Fiona Loudon, and they had a daughter named Ella that same year.

However, their marriage ended in divorce just two years later. Craig has been married to actress Rachel Weisz since 2011.

Craig’s acting career gained momentum over time, and he eventually landed numerous iconic roles, including appearances in Our Friends in the North, Elizabeth, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and Layer Cake, which helped him secure the role of James Bond.

Craig starred in five Bond films, starting with Casino Royale in 2006 and ending with No Time to Die in 2021. His tenure as Bond spanned 15 years, making him the longest-serving 007. Only Sean Connery and Roger Moore have fought villains in more Bond films, with six and seven credits respectively.

In addition to his acting career, Craig has been open about his personal life, sharing stories of his adolescence and struggles with puberty.

He admitted that he was focused on kissing girls and getting into their pants rather than romantic love during his formative years. However, he also acknowledged the importance of love and relationships in his life, as evidenced by his enduring marriage to Weisz.

Overall, Craig’s journey to becoming one of the world’s most successful actors is a testament to his hard work and perseverance.

Despite facing financial struggles early on, he continued to pursue his dream of becoming an actor, eventually achieving great success and international acclaim.
