A former director who worked with James Corden on the popular game show A League of Their Own has called him the “most difficult and obnoxious presenter” he has ever worked with.
Craig Duncan, who directed Corden, Freddie Flintoff, Jamie Redknapp, and Jack Whitehall on a set piece for the show, shared his experience on his YouTube channel.
Duncan explained that he was approached by Corden’s production company to direct a challenge that would be part of the show’s seventh season.
When asked if he was comfortable working with difficult presenters, he responded by mentioning that he had previously filmed the Three Tenors, who are known for their diva-like behavior.
He was then invited to a rehearsal to get a feel for Corden’s style.
Duncan sat in the darkness and watched as Corden went through his lines, and he recalled one particular moment where Corden took issue with a card he had to read. “It’s s**t, we have to rewrite that,” Corden said.
Despite feeling sorry for the person who wrote the joke, Duncan agreed to film the segment for the show.
However, things got a little testy on set due to the limited time Corden was available for the shoot.
With just five minutes left to get the shot they needed, Corden got frustrated and said, “What the f**k is going on here? It’s obvious what you do. It’s so obvious how you shoot it, you’re stupid.”
Duncan managed to pacify Corden, and they continued filming.
However, the shoot ended up taking 45 minutes longer than it should have due to Corden.
This isn’t the first time he has come under fire for his behavior.
In the past, he has been accused of being arrogant and rude to his colleagues.
He has also been criticized for his jokes, which some people have deemed offensive and inappropriate.
Despite the criticism, Corden has had a successful career in the entertainment industry.
