The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, has been announced as TIME’s person of the year for 2021.
Time editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal wrote.
“Person of the Year is a marker of influence, and few individuals have had more influence than Musk on life on Earth, and potentially life off Earth too. In 2021, Musk emerged not just as the world’s richest person but also as perhaps the richest example of a massive shift in our society.”

Musk is yet to respond to the award, but it’ll probably involve memes when he does.
Meanwhile, Twitter have been calling out TIME for their decision to give the award to Musk.
Many think Dolly Parton was robbed and should have won the award.
A number of tweets went viral:
Dolly Parton deserved to be “Person of the Year”. Retweet if you agree!

Can’t argue that Dolly would have been a worthy winner. Maybe next year.
