A Game of Thrones actor has been arrested for allegedly engaging in ‘online sexually explicit communication’ with a minor.
Joseph Gatt who played Thenn Warg in the show was arrested 6 April by the Los Angeles Police Department in his home after the 50-year-old was served with a residential home search warrant due to his alleged online behaviour.
The LAPD’s Juvenile Division and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force obtained a tip-off that Gatt had ‘engaged in online sexually explicit communication’ with a minor over the internet.
He was then arrested by detectives due to an outstanding felony warrant for contact with a minor for sexual offense.
The star was released on $5,000 bail, according to reports form TMZ, and has since updated the public with a statement.
He wrote on Twitter:
“I obviously want to address the absolutely horrifying and completely untrue allegations recently levelled against me.”
“They are 100 percent categorically wrong and reckless. I have confirmed errors and misleading information in today’s press release.”
“I am fully cooperating with police and LAPD to get to the bottom of this. I look forward to clearing my good name. Thank you to all my friends and supporters who know that this is untrue and understand for legal reasons I cannot comment further on social media.”
