A 10-year-old boy has sadly died after trying to save three other children who fell into a freezing lake.

Tributes are pouring in for Jack Johnson from Solihull, England who courageously went running into a frozen lake to save children “he didn’t even know”.

On Sunday, four children were rushed to hospital and placed on life support after a tragic accident in Solihull.

It was thought that the kids were playing on the ice in Babbs Mill Park in Kinghurst when it cracked at around 2.30pm.

Three boys, aged 8, 10 and 11 were rushed to hospital and placed on life support after suffering from cardiac arrest.

Authorities announced on Monday that the boys had sadly all died as a result of their injuries.

A fourth boy, aged 6, remains in critical conditions and is “very poorly”.

Johnson has been identified by family as a fifth boy who sadly passed away. His Aunt,Charlotte McIlmurray, wrote on Facebook:

“The 10-year-old boy is my nephew. He saw one go through the ice and he ran and tried to save them.

“Our prayers and thoughts are with the other family. We are just broken over it.

“To find out he died trying to save 3 lads he didn’t even know, that just sums him up. He was amazing.”

Heartbreaking.
