Howard Stern has slammed Johnny Depp for his so-called ‘overacting’ while on the stand during his defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife.
Depp launched a defamation lawsuit against his ex Amber Heard in 2019, after the Aquaman star described herself as a victim of domestic abuse in a 2018 article she penned in The Washington Post. The trial began Monday 11 April.
On 25 April the TV personality spoke out about the lawsuit on The Howard Stern Show.
He labeled the actor as a ‘narcissist’, claiming Depp ‘wanted it [the trial] televised’ and being able to ‘talk [his] way out of anything’.
Stern then told his co-host, Robin Quivers, that he would “play some clips” from the trial and said:
“If he isn’t acting – I mean, he’s so overacting because he’s writing his own material as he goes along,”
“First of all, his difficulty in speaking the English language is fantastic…And the accent. First of all, isn’t he from like the South of the Midwest?
“Johnny Depp was born in Kentucky. Does that sound like a guy from Kentucky?”
Quivers added:
“He’s trying to save his career. I don’t think this is going to help,”
