This story is not for the faint of heart or for those about to eat…
While some people are adventurous when it comes to food, there are certain limits that should never be crossed.
Eating parts of one’s own body, for example, is definitely one of them.

Influencer Paula Gonu decided this was not her belief, however. After undergoing knee surgery, the 30-year-old decided to keep the piece of cartilage that was removed.

Speaking on the Club 113 podcast, Paula revealed that she later added the piece of cartilage to a bolognese sauce, which she then fed to herself and her partner.

She told the podcast:

“He put it in alcohol so it would stay that way for as long as I wanted. A week later, I was with my partner at the time, having a jokey conversation.

“I told him I wanted to eat it because it was part of me and I had to put it back in my body.”

“I wanted to be able to say in my head that I’ve eaten a piece of my own meniscus,”

Now, let’s take a moment to reflect on what just happened. Paula took a piece of her own body, put it in a bolognese sauce, and fed it to her partner. This is not a drill. This actually happened.

Justifying her decision to eat part of her own knee, Paula claimed that many people eat various parts of animals, including bones. Therefore, she argued, there’s no reason why she shouldn’t be able to eat her own body parts.

While it’s true that some cultures do consume various parts of animals that others might find unusual or even repulsive, it’s a whole different ballgame when it comes to eating one’s own body parts. This is not something that is done in any culture, anywhere in the world.

The fact that Paula even considered doing this is quite disturbing. But what’s even more concerning is that she thought it was a good idea to share this information with the world.

It’s one thing to do something weird or disgusting in the privacy of your own home. But it’s quite another to share it with others and possibly influence them to do the same.

As for Paula’s partner, we can only imagine his reaction when he found out what he had just eaten.

We assume he was as disgusted as the rest of us and has since broken up with Paula…

This story serves as a reminder that just because something is possible, doesn’t mean it should be done. And just because someone else does something, doesn’t mean you should follow suit. As the old saying goes, “Just because your friend jumps off a bridge, it doesn’t mean you should too.”

Let’s hope that Paula’s story is not an indication of where our society is headed. Because if it is, we’re in big trouble.
