Jay Briscoe, a professional wrestling star and Ring of Honor Hall of Famer, has passed away at the age of 38.

Tony Khan, the founder of AEW and the current owner of Ring of Honor, shared the news on social media, stating:

“Sadly, Jamin Pugh, also known as Jay Briscoe, has passed away. He was a star in Ring of Honor for over 20 years, from the beginning until now. Jay and his brother Mark have been dominating ROH and have been champions until today. We will do everything we can to support his family. Rest in peace, Jamin.”

Briscoe, also known as Jamin Pugh, was a professional wrestler who joined Ring of Honor (ROH) in 2002.

Alongside his brother, Mark, Jay formed one of the most successful tag teams in pro wrestling history, known as “The Briscoe Brothers.”

In addition to his success as a tag team wrestler, Jay also had a successful career as a singles competitor, winning the ROH World Championship twice.

According to pro wrestling insider Dave Meltzer, Jay was involved in a car accident in Delaware.

He and his brother Mark were inducted into the Ring of Honor’s inaugural Hall of Fame class last year. The tragic news of his passing has led to an outpouring of condolences from his colleagues in the wrestling industry.

So sad, RIP.
