It has been confirmed that Johnny Depp will return to the big screen in a new movie.
It was announced by the jury on Wednesday that Depp had won the case against Heard which started over her 2018 Washington Post op-ed where she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor won $15 million in total, $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. However, Judge Penney Azcarate reduced the punitive damages to meet the state’s statutory cap of $350,000.
After the spokesperson for the jury announced that Heard’s defamation claims against Depp were not proven, they did then award Heard $2 million in compensatory damages for one of her three claims against the actor.
Due to Heard’s allegations against the iconic actor, his legal team argued that he lost major film roles such as Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
Much to the delight of Depp fans, Variety has reported that Depp will star as King Louis XV in a currently untitled film from French actor/director Maïwenn.
Filming is set to commence in the summer of 2022 “across Parisian landmarks, mainly at the Versailles Palace” and last approximately three months.
The publication confirmed Depp will share the screen with Maïwenn who will play Jeanne du Barry.
Depp fans will be excited!
