Johnny Depp has landed his first role since the nasty trial with his ex Amber Heard resulted in him being boycotted by Hollywood.
The actor has struggled to find work after being accused of domestic violence by Heard, and hasn’t featured in a movie since Minamata in 2020.
Depp will play controversial French King Louis XV in the next film directed by French helmer Maiwenn, and filming will begin this summer, according Variety.
Details of the film have been kept under lock and key, but it will be produced by Pascal Caucheteux and Gregoire Sorlat’s Paris-based Why Not Productions.
And if past Maiwenn moves are anything to go by, Depp will have to polish up his French, because it’s highly unlikely the movie will be in English.
