Johnny Depp’s security guard, Starling Jenkins, admitted in court that he paid a homeless man $420 to retrieve Depp’s phone after Amber Heard threw it over the balcony.
Depp launched a defamation lawsuit against Heard in 2019, after the Aquaman star described herself as a victim of domestic abuse in a 2018 article she penned in The Washington Post. The trial began Monday 11 April in Fairfax, Virginia.
Appearing via video link, Jenkins made the claim that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor paid a homeless man $420 to retrieve the actors phone.
When asked about how he planned to find the missing phone, Jenkins said:
“[we] FORMULATED a plan…to use the find my phone app.”
He was asked:
“did you end up finding Mr Depp’s phone”
To which the security guard replied:
“Yes i did, SKid Row, probably six miles from the house”
When asked “who had the phone” he said:
“a homeless gentlemen…he was honest, he returned it. I gave him reward for it”
Jenkins was then asked what the reward was, to which he replied:
“$420, Chicken tacos, chips, apples, fiji water.”
This case just gets crazier and crazier…
