Johnny Depp is set to make his long-awaited return to the big screen.

Due to Amber Heard’s allegations of the actor in 2016, the iconic actor has had some difficulty landing gigs.

Depp launched a defamation lawsuit against Heard in 2019, after the Aquaman star described herself as a victim of domestic abuse in a 2018 article she penned in The Washington Post. The trial started Monday 11 April in Fairfax, Virginia.

Depp was fired from Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and was also asked to resign from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

Even although Hollywood practically blacklisted Depp following Heard’s accusations, he is coming back to the silver screen in 2023.

As reported by Variety, Depp will star as King Louis XV in a currently untitled film from French actor/director Maïwenn.

Filming is set to commence in the summer of 2022 “across Parisian landmarks, mainly at the Versailles Palace.”

The publication confirmed Depp will share the screen with Maïwenn who will play Jeanne du Barry.

Depp will fans will be ecstatic!
