Depp launched a defamation lawsuit for $50 million against Amber Heard in 2019, after the Aquaman star described herself as a victim of domestic abuse in a 2018 article she penned in The Washington Post.
Heard then countersued for $100 million as she claimed Depp’s legal team started a “smear campaign” against her.
The Aquaman star has been ordered by the court to pay more than $8 million to Depp in damages.
Ben Chew explained on Law & Crime‘s Youtube channel why he celebrated at the mention of the supermodel’s’ name.
“There was an instance in which Miss Heard actually did admit to punching Johnny, and that was what we call the ‘staircase incident’.
“But her explanation for that was she had to punch Johnny because she was convinced that but for her punching Johnny, Johnny would have pushed her sister Whitney down the stairs the same way she had heard that he had pushed Kate Moss down the stairs.”
The lawyer admitted that he ‘lost composure for a moment’ because he knew the claim was false.
Chew claims Depp was never interested in money and wanted nothing but the truth.
