The judge has denied Amber Heard’s photo of her bloody lip from alleged Johnny Depp abuse and now Heard’s lawyers have commented.
Depp sued his ex-wife for $50 million over an op-ed she wrote in 2018 in The Washington Post about being abused. The actor was not named, however, he claims that these allegations have negatively impacted his reputation and his career.
The actress then countersued Depp for $100 million, accusing the 58-year-old of creating a “smear campaign” against her.
The trial began on 11 April in Fairfax, Virgina.
So far, the televised trial has shocked the public, shining a light on many gruesome parts of the couple’s tumultuous relationship.
Heard told the court about an incident when Depp allegedly backhanded her, noting that the actor had a tendency to wear rings.
The actress testified that when the alleged incident happened, it “feeling like [her] lip went into [her] teeth.” She took a photo of her injury.
TMZ obtained this photo which shows Heard with a bloody lip while holding a post-it note which has “i shall return…XXX” written on it.
The 36-year-old’s lawyers tried to get this brought in as evidence to the case, but the judge turned it down after the Depp’s side objected as the photo had not been included in the discovery phase of the case, subsequently making it ineligible.
The alleged injury photo is reportedly from 2012, which contradicts Heard’s statement that the first violent incident happened in 2013.

Heard’s legal team shared this statement:
“The panicked Depp’s team is fighting tooth and nail to prevent compelling evidence and photos such as this from being introduced. they continue their losing strategy: distract the jury and demonize the defendant.”
The trial is on a break this week and will return 16 May.
