The judge has reportedly rejected Amber Heard’s attempt at getting the case thrown out of court.
Heard’s legal team had reportedly argued for her case against ex-husband Johnny Depp to be dismissed, arguing that Depp had not proven his claims.
In a recent development, Caroline Patrickis, a reporter for Washington’s 7News, has claimed Heard is trying to have the entire case dismissed all together.
Patrickis tweeted:
BREAKING: Amber Heard is trying to have the case dismissed right now. @7NewsDC

‘Breaking: amber heard is trying to have the case dismissed right now. @7NewsDC’
The reported then followed up that tweet with:
Johnny Depp's team rests. Amber Heard's legal team is trying to dismiss the case. If denied, Amber will start her case. @7NewsDC #johnnydepptrial

Judge Penney Azcarate denied the request however because there was a ‘scintilla’ of evidence a jury may find that was defamatory.
The request sparked an angry exchange amongst both sides, with Rottenborn saying that the evidence Depp abused Heard physically and verbally was ‘overwhelming and undisputed’.
Depp’s lawyer Benjamin Chew gave the heated response that the actor had ‘come forward with multiple credible witnesses, documents and authentic tape recordings of Miss Heard herself’.
Chew yelled ‘She’s the abuser in this courtroom!’
