Kelis’ husband Mike Mora has sadly died aged 37 after battling stage four stomach cancer.
Photographer Mike shared the devastating news that he had cancer in September 2021 and had been diagnosed a year earlier – with doctors giving him 18 months left to live.
Representatives for Kelis, aged 42, have confirmed her husband’s death in a statement via ET and asked that fans respect her privacy at this difficult time.
The singer has yet to publicly comment on her husband’s passing on her social media platforms.
The couple married in 2014, welcoming son Shepherd in 2015 and a daughter in September 2020 whose name has not been revealed. The singer also has a 12-year-old son named Knight who she shared with ex-husband Nas, who she was married to from 2005 to 2010.
Mora shared the news of his diagnosis to Instagram September 2021 saying:
‘They said 18 months. It’s been exactly 12. Here we go.. Scared as F¥#% … The story will continue.. Love you @kelis’
So sad. RIP Mike Mora.
