Rally driver Ken Block sadly died aged 55 following a snowmobile accident.
According to the Wasatch County Sheriff’s office, the rally driver was riding a snowmobile at around 2pm on a steep slope when the vehicle suddenly flipped and landed on top of him.
Officials have shared that he was pronounced dead at the scene after the injuries he sustained during the horrific accident.
The Sherriff’s office released the following statement:
“Mr. Block was riding with a group but was alone when the accident occurred,”
“We are saddened to hear of the loss of Kenneth and our hearts are with his family and friends so deeply affected.”
The exact details surrounding the accident are not yet entirely clear. His team released a statement saying:
“Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband.”
“He will be incredibly missed.”
His final post on social media was on Instagram Stories, where he wrote “Sketchy and snowy drive…”. See below:
