The release of the popular show ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ on Netflix has received a lot of hype online and is causing people to take another look at old song lyrics.
Katy Perry’s hit ‘Dark Horse’ was the first to cause controversy with her lyric “She’s a beast/ I call her Karma/ She eats your heart like Jeffrey Dahmer.”
Now, fans of the show are looking at Kesha’s hit ‘Cannibal’. Specifically the lyrics:
“Your little heart goes pitter-patter, I want your liver on a platter,”
“Be too sweet and you’ll be a goner, yeah, I’ll pull a Jeffrey Dahmer. I eat boys up, breakfast and lunch, then when I’m thirsty, I drink their blood.
“Carnivore, animal, I am a cannibal. I eat boys”
Fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts:
“I just learned who Jeffrey Dahmer is and I knew his name was familiar because Kesha put his name in her lyrics for her song ‘Cannibal’. I need to delete that song now. Why the heck do we give fandom to these sickos?! Of course Netflix makes a series about it.”

The Netflix series is a dramatization Dahmer’s story, a serial killer who was convicted of the horrific killing of seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991.
Dahmer also admitted to being a cannibal and eating the flesh of his victims.
He would drug and sexually assault his victims – even sometimes performing twisted experiments on them.
The serial killer was sentenced to 15 consecutive life sentences but was beaten to death by fellow inmate, Christopher Scarver in 1994.
