Leonardo DiCaprio, a Hollywood actor known for his many successful films, has denied rumors that he is dating Love Island host Maya Jama.
The rumors started when the two were spotted together in Paris, leaving the Le Piaf club with friends.
Social media users quickly jumped to the conclusion that they were dating, especially considering DiCaprio’s track record of dating younger women.
Jama is 28 years old, which is older than some of DiCaprio’s previous love interests, but the rumors gained traction when reports emerged suggesting that they had hung out multiple times.
A source for The Sun claimed that they had been introduced by mutual friends and had been on a string of dates.
“They have both recently come out of long-term relationships so neither of them are rushing into anything — they are having fun and seeing how it goes. Leo has certainly been wooing her though, he loves spending time with her,” the source said.
However, DiCaprio’s representative denied the rumors to the Mail Online and another representative told the Metro that DiCaprio and Jama are just friends.
While images from Paris do indicate that the two are acquainted, the Titanic star’s reps insists that there is no romance going on.
DiCaprio recently split from his girlfriend of five years, Camila Morrone. He was then linked to 27-year-old Gigi Hadid, but a source told People that she had allegedly “decided that she was done” with DiCaprio after a while. “They are at very different places in life. She prioritizes being a mom. It was never that serious anyway. It kind of just fizzled.”
Despite criticism, DiCaprio has continued to date younger women.
In an interview with Esquire in 2016, he addressed the criticism, saying, “That’s ridiculous, that’s absolutely ridiculous. That’s not even true. I’ve never dated anybody I didn’t want to date. And I have never dated anybody for their age. I’ve dated many women in my life and a lot of the time, people don’t even know who they are.”
It remains to be seen who the Hollywood star will date next.
