Macaulay Culkin recently recalled a “weird” phone call he received from Michael Jackson when he was just 10 years old.
The former child star, known for his role in the movie Home Alone, has often been asked about his relationship with the pop icon, who was known for his close friendships with young celebrities.
In an interview with Larry King, Culkin described how Jackson called him “randomly, like, out of the blue” after watching Home Alone.
The two had previously met briefly when Culkin was performing in The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center.
The actor shared, “He kind of recognized me because it was after I’d done Uncle Buck.”
Culkin also discussed the surprising phone call from Jackson in another interview, where the singer asked him to come over to his house.
Culkin recalled, “Yeah, he reached out to me, because a lot of things were happening like, you know, big and fast with me, and I think yeah he identified with that.”
In an interview on Marc Maron’s podcast, Culkin shared more details about his first meeting with Jackson.
He mentioned that Jackson came backstage before one of his shows, accompanied by Donald Trump, as they were friendly at that time. Culkin remembered Jackson saying, “‘Oh, Uncle Buck, yeah, you’re funny.'”
Despite rumors that have circulated for years about Jackson’s alleged inappropriate behavior with children, Culkin was adamant that nothing happened between them.
In a recent interview with Esquire, he stated, “Look, I’m gonna begin with the line-it’s not a line, it’s the truth: He never did anything to me. I never saw him do anything.”
Culkin acknowledged the current social climate and the accusations against Jackson, but he maintained that he had no reason to hold anything back.
The close relationship between Culkin and Jackson has been a topic of speculation and interest for many years.
Culkin’s accounts of their interactions shed some light on their friendship, which started with a random phone call from Jackson after watching Home Alone.
His recent interviews provide a glimpse into their friendship and refute any claims of impropriety.
