Sophie Lloyd, the guitarist for Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), has denied rumors that she is the “other woman” in the relationship between the rock star and Megan Fox.
Last weekend, the Transformers actor removed all of her social media photos of MGK and posted a series of cryptic images that suggested some form of betrayal.
Fans wondered whether she had split from her fiancé, with one Instagram user even suggesting that MGK had gotten with Lloyd.
Megan Fox responded with sarcasm, saying, “Maybe I got with Sophie,” before deactivating her Instagram account altogether.
Lloyd has since refuted these rumors, stating that she has been “needlessly dragged into the media” through unfounded accusations made on social media.
A statement released by her management to Page Six reads, “Sophie Lloyd is a professional, accomplished musician who has been needlessly dragged into the media based off of meritless accusations made by social media. Any suggestion that she has ever acted in an unprofessional manner or stepped out of her relationship are untrue. It’s disrespectful to her as a female artist and poor journalism and social commentary to be reporting anything else.”
Lloyd also took to Instagram to post an image of her and her boyfriend Christopher Painter on Valentine’s Day, seemingly putting the rumors to bed.
According to Page Six, the couple has been dating for more than five years.
Meanwhile, MGK and Megan Fox have remained silent on the matter since the drama unfolded over Super Bowl weekend.
Before deactivating her Instagram, Fox followed only three men: Harry Styles, Timothée Chalamet, and Eminem.
Fans speculated that the drama would be revealed in a Super Bowl advert or during Rihanna’s performance, but nothing was confirmed. It remains to be seen when the couple will address the issue.
