Madonna’s boxer boyfriend, Josh Popper, has expressed his emotions in a heartfelt message following her hospitalisation.

While he didn’t directly address the alarming situation, Josh alluded to it in a lengthy caption accompanying a carousel of boxing photos he shared on social media. In his caption, he wrote, “‘Give yourself permission to live a big life. Step into who you were meant to be. Stop playing small. You are meant for greater things.’”

Josh expressed gratitude to his coach, family, and the Bredwinners team for their support during this time. He initially posted these photos on his Instagram feed a few days prior to Madonna’s hospitalisation but later shared them on his Instagram Story on the day the news broke.

The shocking news of Madonna’s health scare was disclosed by her manager, Guy Oseary, on Wednesday. In his caption, he revealed, “On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU.”

Oseary further explained that all of Madonna’s commitments, including her upcoming tour, would be put on hold. According to Page Six, the Grammy winner was found unresponsive and swiftly taken to a hospital in New York City on Saturday. She was subsequently intubated for a night but has since regained consciousness and is responsive.

Throughout this health crisis, Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon, has reportedly been by her side. The Like a Virgin singer was scheduled to kick off her highly-anticipated Celebration tour with a show at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. However, it remains unclear when the tour will commence, if at all.

Oseary reassured fans that more details, including a new start date for the tour and rescheduled shows, would be shared as soon as they became available.

Prior to Madonna’s hospitalisation, she shared an ominous post on social media. The Material Girl posted a collection of backstage photos from her concerts on Instagram, which now take on a more significant meaning in light of her current health situation.
