In response to the comments she received on Instagram, Stewart defended the authenticity of the pictures.
She expressed her satisfaction that minimal airbrushing was done, stating, “They are incredibly accurate pictures. I was really pleased that there was not much airbrushing.” She dismissed claims of plastic surgery, emphasizing her commitment to maintaining good skin and hair through a strict regimen of vitamins, sun protection, and healthy eating.
Addressing her preparation for the shoot, Stewart revealed that she engaged in Pilates three times a week, monitored her diet, and abstained from alcohol. She also shared details of her beauty routine, including regular facials, spray tanning, and body waxing.
While she admitted to occasionally using fillers to address specific lines, she expressed her aversion to Botox, confessing, “It’s a weird thing for me. I really and truly don’t do a lot.”
Stewart acknowledged the significance of her appearance on the Sports Illustrated cover, becoming the oldest person ever to achieve such a feat. Although she claimed not to think about age often, she recognized the opportunity to showcase that age is just a number. Her motivation stemmed from wanting to inspire others and prove that women her age can still look and feel good.
“I thought that this is kind of historic and that I better look really good,” Stewart shared. “I was motivated by showing people a woman my age can still look good, feel good, be good. I want other women to feel that they could also be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.”
