Matt Damon has admitted that he regrets turning down the opportunity to be the highest paid actor for a role in one of the biggest films of all time.
In an interview with LadBible, the legendary actor admitted that he should not have turned down the chance to be part of the Avatar franchise.
Damon claimed that:
“I had to turn down Avatar.
“James Cameron offered me 10 percent of Avatar if I did it, but I was working on post-production for The Bourne Ultimatum.”
Considering the first Avatar movie went on to make more money at the box office than any other film in history at that time, this is probably a decision that Damon regrets.
If the 52-year-old has taken on the role as Jake Sully, Cameron would have paid him $250 million.
Ouch.
