Matt Damon has admitted that he has only just stopped using the homophobic ‘F-slur’ after being educated by his daughter.
The multiple award winning actor confessed his daughter wrote him “a very long, beautiful treatise on how that word is dangerous”.
Damon explained that the slur “was commonly used when I was a kid, with a different application”.
The ‘Good Will Hunting’ actor recalled the incident around the dinner table.
“She left the table.”
“I said, ‘Come on, that’s a joke! I say it in the movie Stuck on You!’
“She went to her room and wrote a very long, beautiful treatise on how that word is dangerous. I said, ‘I retire the f-slur!’ I understood.”
Damon’s confession has led to many people questioning why it took him so long to get with the times.
