Who is Mike Richards and why on earth is Levar Burton not the new host of Jeopardy!

Who is Mike Richards?
Richards joined Jeopardy! as executive producer in 2020, and is now in advanced talks with Sony to become the show’s new permanent host, according to Variety.
You may remember Richards was one of the many temporary hosts following the death of Alex Trebek.
At the time, Richards said:
“He was everything you could hope for and more. He was an idol of mine, and I will work every day to try to live up to the example he set.”
