Friends, family, and colleagues in the modelling industry have taken to social media to express their heartbreak and pay tribute to Weir.
Her partner, Tom Bull, shared a touching sentiment, saying, “We loved with a love that was more than love.”
Scoop Management, Weir’s modelling agency, also shared several photos of the young model, accompanied by the words, “Forever in our hearts.”
Photographer Chris Dwyer also posted his own tribute, calling Weir “one of the kindest souls in the world.”
Weir was one of 27 finalists in the Australian Miss Universe pageant in 2022.
In an interview with Gold Coast Magazine last September, she spoke about the experience and what set her apart from the other contestants.
She cited her wide range of interests, including horse riding, which she had been doing since she was just three years old.
Weir was also passionate about English literature, particularly poetry, which she used as a way to connect with others.
“I love to represent myself in the best way possible through writing my own poetry, but I also find it fascinating to find a commonality of experience with people from completely different walks of life,” she said.
Weir had graduated from Sydney University with a double degree in English literature and psychology.
She had plans to move to London in the coming years to spend time with her family and expand her professional and social networks.
The loss of Weir has left a deep impact on those who knew her. A friend described her as having a smile that “lit up every room,” adding, “I’m so lucky to have known you. Thank you for everything.”
Weir’s family, friends, and colleagues in the modelling industry will undoubtedly miss her greatly.
RIP.
