Model Jeremy Ruehlemann has sadly died at the age of 27.
“I have never posted anything like this but to lose a friend who was such a beautiful soul is just really hard,” said fashion designer Christian Siriano in a touching tribute to the model.
Friends and industry professionals announced the news on Sunday, but did not reveal the cause of death.
Ruehlemann, a New Jersey native, had a successful career in the fashion industry, walking and modelling for designers such as Siriano, John Varvatos, Superdry, Perry Ellis and more, and appearing in publications such as GQ and Playhouse Magazine.
Siriano referred to the model as one of his “muses” and sent his love to his grieving family and friends. In his tribute on social media, the designer wrote:
‘I have never posted anything like this but to lose a friend who was such a beautiful soul is just really hard. This is for Jeremy, the most beautiful man that gave so much love to everyone he met no matter what. He was one of my muses and he always will be. He inspired me and I will love him forever. I’m sending all my love to his family and friends who lost someone so special. I know we will meet again one day but right now I just want to hug him. Rest well J we all love you so much! Send love to his family today please.’
Fellow model Lexi Wood also shared a heart-wrenching tribute to Ruehlemann on Instagram, describing him as her “soulmate” and “bestfriend”. “I met Jeremy when I was 15, the day I met him I knew my heart would be full forever, he’s my soulmate, my bestfriend, my support, my family, my light, my love, my twin flame… I could go on and on because he was so special,” wrote Wood.
Her post reads:
Wood said she had just seen Ruehlemann on Thursday.
Many in the industry, including Halston Creative Director Ken Downing and singer Demi Lovato, also offered their condolences and paid their respects to the late model.
Ruehlemann was represented by Soul Artist Management and had posted a behind-the-scenes photo from a Tommy Hilfiger shoot on his own Instagram page just days before his death.
