‘Monster’s Ball’ Star Coronji Calhoun Has Died Aged 30

Former child Star Coronji Calhoun has tragically passed away just aged 30.

Calhoun rose to fame at the age of 10 when he starred alongside Halle Berry as her son in Monster’s Ball, the movie which saw Berry become the first African American in history to win an Oscar for Best Actress.

Berry, along with the filmmaker Lee Daniels, both donated $3,394 each to the fundraiser for Calhoun’s funeral.

Calhoun’s mother wrote on the fundraiser:

‘We are blown away by the outpouring of love the community and Coronji’s adopted family has shown during our process of grief. As we close this chapter, we ask that in your remembrance of him, you remember to love your neighbor as yourself, because that is what Coronji did for his entire community.’




Calhoun died of congestive heart failure and lung problems.
