It’s one of the internet’s most well known and most wholesome stories.
The story of a grandma who accidentally text a complete stranger, which led to a brilliant exchange of messages and the most unlikely friendship.
Wanda Dench mistakenly sent a message to Jamal Hinton inviting him over for Thanksgiving in 2016.

The pair were reunited, and shared a series of touching photos to Instagram.
Sadly Wanda’s husband, Lonnie Dench, passed away from COVID complications in April 2020, so it’s great to see she has a friend to spend Thanksgiving with.
Netflix has announced that a movie about the pair’s wholesome story will be coming to screens soon.
The Thanksgiving Text will tell the story of the pair’s friendship, and they’ve released a joint statement saying they’re delighted by the news.
“We are excited to share our story with the world. We hope it inspires more people to reach out and make connections that they wouldn’t ordinarily make,”
“We are so blessed to find a genuine friendship brought together by God from a mistaken text message.”
How wholesome.
