Demand grows to replace Nick and Vanessa with Love is Blind’s beloved couple Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton as Netflix considers hosting change-up.
Amidst mounting backlash, viewers are clamoring for a change in the hosting lineup of Love is Blind on Netflix, with a petition on Change.org amassing over 40,000 signatures calling for the removal of Nick and Vanessa Lachey and the appointment of Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, the show’s fan-favorite couple, as the new hosts.
An insider from the show revealed that “There’s always been whispers about replacing them, especially now after the live reunion special which was a complete disaster on so many levels. If they want to keep their ratings up, there’s got to be a change.”
This change could very well come in the form of Speed, 35, and Hamilton, 32, as the show’s fresh faces in the hosting role.
The couple won the hearts of viewers during the first season of Love is Blind when they fell in love, got engaged, and got married all within weeks of meeting each other.
Their heartfelt story culminated in a wedding ceremony on November 14, 2018, which also happened to be Lauren’s 31st birthday.
“Viewers feel a connection with Lauren and Cameron because they are the real deal,” said the on-set source. “They are down-to-earth, kind people who can actually help the contestants because they have walked in their shoes. People want to relate to the hosts – and at this point, they can’t relate to Vanessa or Nick.”
Prior to their appearance on Love is Blind, Lauren ran her own marketing company in Detroit, while Cameron, originally from Maine, is a scientist and the founder of the Artificial Intelligence company Alliance AI.
The couple has kept busy with their popular podcast, We Have the Receipts, with comedian Chris Burns, where they recap exciting reality shows on Netflix.
They also have a thriving YouTube channel, Hanging With The Hamiltons, with nearly 800K followers, and a strong presence on social media with millions of enthusiastic fans.
They even share a beloved “fur baby” dog named Sparx.
Thousands of devoted fans have taken to social media to voice their support for Lauren and Cameron as the new hosts, expressing their dissatisfaction with the current hosts, particularly Vanessa, whom they have criticized for “cringy,” “condescending,” and “obnoxious” behavior towards contestants on the recent live reunion special, which was watched by millions of viewers.
In response to the outcry, Love is Blind fan Libby Cross swiftly created a petition on Change.org urging Netflix to bring on Lauren and Cameron as the new hosts.
“Join me in asking Netflix to replace Nick and Vanessa as host of LIB… with LAUREN AND CAMERON HAMILTON. If you agree, please sign this petition and sign the one below to make Lauren and Cameron the new hosts!” the petition reads.
As fans continue to rally behind Lauren and Cameron, it remains to be seen whether Netflix and the show’s creator will take heed of the growing demand and make the hosting change-up.
