Nick Cannon has spoken out about his actions the day after his son’s death.
Cannon announced earlier this week that his 5-year-old son Zen has tragically died.
He made the announcement on The Nick Cannon Show on Tuesday morning, sharing with the audience that Zen passed away from a brain tumor.
Cannon said the tumor developed around Thanksgiving and Zen’s condition quickly deteriorated.

Nick and his partner Alyssa took their son for one last family outing before he passed away.
Nick said:
“I wanted to make sure I allowed the sun to rise and kinda hold my son. Having the last… Holding my son for the last time… It was a beautiful setting,”
Cannon has now spoken out defending his decision to go back to work the day after Zen passed away.
“A lot of people keep asking me like, ‘Man why are you even at work?’ Especially my family members, ‘Boy you need to go sit down somewhere, you got too many jobs already. Allow yourself to just be yourself,’ ”
“And I appreciate that, all of that advice and I know it comes from a place of care. But to me, this isn’t work, this is love.”
“Yesterday, it was a little easier than today because yesterday I was so laser-focused and even numb, I just knew I just had to get it done. Today, I’m a little torn. I’m a little confused. Because it’s a hurting thing. I’m grieving. I feel guilty on so many levels.”
Rest in peace Zen.
