Nick Cannon, a television personality who has fathered 12 children with six women, recently admitted in an interview that he wished he had a child with his ex-girlfriend and former co-star Christina Milian.
Cannon expressed regret for not having a child with Milian when he found out she was pregnant with someone else’s child.
During an interview with The Shade Room’s Thembi Mawema, Cannon recalled his feelings upon learning of Milian’s pregnancy: “I remember when I found out she was pregnant…I was like dang, man!”
Cannon and Milian starred together in the 2003 comedy film “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” and dated for two years before breaking up.
Cannon and Mawema discussed the topic with humor and light-heartedness.
When Mawema asked if Cannon felt regret, he replied, “Yeah, yeah. But I was so happy for her and you know her daughter is amazing.”
Milian has three children with two different partners, including her ex-husband, The-Dream, and her current boyfriend, Matt Pokora.
Cannon said that he and Milian discussed starting a family when they were together, stating, “We was kids in love, early on.”
Cannon acknowledged that life often takes unexpected turns, and people must accept the way things unfold: “Teaches you how life plans it out, the universe gives it out how it’s supposed to be given.”
Despite Milian’s current marital status, Mawema joked that it could still happen, to which Cannon replied, “Or I don’t know what the situation is.”
Cannon has children with multiple women, including Mariah Carey, Abby De La Rosa, a DJ and former radio personality, and models Alyssa Scott, Brittany Bell, Bre Tiesi, and Lanisha Cole.
In February, Cannon stated that he would leave it up to God to decide when he should stop having children.
Representatives for Cannon and Milian did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
While Cannon’s comments may seem lighthearted and humorous, it is worth noting that having multiple children with multiple partners can have significant emotional and financial consequences for both parents and children.
