Nick Cave’s son Jethro Lazenby has sadly died, aged 31.
The news was confirmed by Cave, aged 64, himself in a statement to NME. It read:
“With much sadness, I can confirm that my son, Jethro, has passed away.
“We would be grateful for family privacy at this time.”
The Bad Seeds frontman lost another son, Arthur, in 2015, after he tragically fell to his death from a cliff in Brighton at the young age of 15.
Lazenby was a model and actor, appearing in 2007 film Corroboree and 2011’s My Little Princess. The 31-year-old only learned that Cave was his father aged eight.
Last month Lazenby was jailed after an assault on his mother, Beau Lazenby. According to local media, mother and son had an argument and Jethro attacked Beau.
Reps for Jethro at the trial argued that the 31-year-old had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and this affected his judgment and moods.
He was released from prison only two days before his death.
The cause of his tragic death has not been release as of yet.
Absolutely heartbreaking, RIP.
