Paul McCartney has seemingly shown support to Johnny Depp in concert footage that has now gone viral.
Depp launched a defamation lawsuit against Heard in 2019, after the Aquaman star described herself as a victim of domestic abuse in a 2018 article she penned in The Washington Post. Heard never mentioned Depp by name but the actor argued that the article she wrote tarnished his reputation and ultimately his acting career.
At a recent concert at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, the legend himself, Paul McCartney, made a public show of support of Depp.
On May 2, as McCartney was performing the song “My Valentine”, footage of Depp could be seen on the screen behind the legend. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor was featured in the original music video for the song.
Clips of the seeming show of support have since gone viral online.
Jill Vedder, wife of Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder, was amongst many that shared the footage on her Instagram, with the caption:
“Might be controversial to post this video with J.D. Don’t care,”
“Know him only to be a gentleman. And while I support women and the ‘me too’ movement. I also know some women who have destroyed the lives of innocent & good men.”
