A petition asking for the removal of the artist formerly known as Kanye West from performing at Coachella 2022 has now surpassed 35,000 signatures, after the rapper’s racial slur to Trevor Noah.

In a description for the Change.org petition, which has links to Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson Instagram fan accounts, petition organiser Caramello Marie said Coachella “should be ashamed of themselves” for associating with Ye.

The petition also argues that West has “been threatening actual bodily harm on others.”

At the time of this writing, the Change.org petition has surpassed its goal with 35,537 signatures.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Kanye, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, with Davidson exposing a text message conversation he had with West and Kanye hitting back at the comedian by calling him out on Instagram.

Yeezy does not appear to have been active on Instagram after being temporarily banned from the site, after “concerning online behaviour” as cited by a Grammys organizer when revoking an offer to perform in this year’s awards ceremony.

People have taken to Twitter as pressure mounts on Coachella banning the rapper:

Do you think Kanye should be allowed at Coachella?
