A resurfaced video of Amber Heard seems to directly contradict her testimony.
Johnny Depp sued his ex-wife for $50 million over an op-ed she wrote in 2018 in The Washington Post about being abused. The actor was not named, however, he claims that these allegations have negatively impacted his reputation and his career.
The actress then countersued Depp for $100 million, accusing the 58-year-old of creating a “smear campaign” against her.
The trial has been on a break this week but is scheduled to resume on Monday, 16 May, continuing where we left off with the 36-year-old’s testimony.
During her testimony, the actress stated that she didn’t know much about Depp before she met him on the set of The Rum Diary in 2011. She claimed that yes, she had heard of him but she was not a fan of his and was unfamiliar with his previous work.
However, a video has resurfaced amidst the trial taken while Heard was promoting The Rum Diary and she clearly says she was a fan, describing him as ‘a cultural icon and a talented actor for as long as [she] can remember’.
