Robert Downey Jr. FaceTimed Johnny Depp After Trial Victory to Celebrate His Win: ‘Thank God It’s Over’

Robert Downey Jr. FaceTimed Johnny Depp after his trial victory to celebrate his win.

Depp launched a defamation lawsuit for $50 million against his ex wife Amber Heard in 2019, after the Aquaman star described herself as a victim of domestic abuse in a 2018 article she penned in The Washington Post.

Heard then countersued for $100 million as she claimed Depp’s legal team started a “smear campaign” against her.

Depp won in court and Heard was then ordered to pay over $8 million in damages.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor’s long time friend allegedly reached out as a show of support, following the verdict.

Depp’s close friend, Josh Richman, claimed that the Iron Man star said:

“John, thank god it’s over,”

Richman revealed the FaceTime conversation amongst a group of Depp supporters at a charity live stream for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

The 59-year-old was allegedly “stoic” in a hotel room in the UK after the verdict result, while a group of his staff and friends around him screamed and cried.

Jeff Beck, who the actor is touring with, allegedly flipped off the TV, according to Richman.
