Jordanna, the wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett, has released a statement following the tragic death of their 2-year-old daughter, Arrayah.
The toddler sadly drowned in the family pool at their Tampa area home on Sunday, despite efforts to save her.
Jordanna expressed her appreciation for the messages, flowers, thoughts, and prayers they have received from well-wishers during this difficult time.
In her statement, she shared her profound sadness and grief over the loss of her daughter.
“Our world will never be the same. Arrayah was the apple of my eye, and my heart will forever be with hers,” she said.
Jordanna went on to say that Arrayah was an integral part of their family and there is no “Barrett 6” without her. She expressed her love for Arrayah and apologized for not being able to protect her.
“I love you so much my baby. I am so so sorry. Until we see each other again, please watch over your siblings and momma and dada. We love you forever and ever and always. I can’t wait to see that precious smile again, and just hug you so close. I would do absolutely anything,” Jordanna said.
The Barrett family will lay Arrayah to rest on Friday, and they have requested that everyone wear bright colors to honor her memory.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also issued a statement expressing their condolences and support for the family during this unimaginably difficult time.
